Another of Worcestershire’s Household Recycling Centres (HRC’s) will be re-opening this week.
The Household Recycling Centre in Upton will re-open on Saturday 6 June and will have extended opening times for a limited period.
The usual number of days the site will be open will be extended from 3 days to 5 days for a 2-week period from 6 June.
Therefore, the site will be open for 5 days from Sat 6 June to Wed 10 June and 5 days from Sat 13 June – Wed 17 June before the 3 usual days a week opening (Sat, Sun and Wed only) starts from 20 June.
Many residents have visited the sites across the county since the successful and safe reopening of 9 out of eleven HRC’s across the county last month.
However, due to new social distancing measures, fewer visitors are allowed on site at any one time, and for Upton, there will be a queuing system in place in the car park to support this.
Councillor Tony Miller, Cabinet Member with Responsibility for the Environment, said: “With Upton opening on Saturday this means we have been able to open all but one of our HRC’s within the last 4 weeks.
I’d like to take the opportunity to thank staff for their hard work in implementing the new social distancing rules and thank residents for their patience whilst abiding by these rules.
“Please continue to check the Let’s Waste Less website before travelling so you are clear on the restrictions that are in place, across all of our operating sites.”
