Worcestershire County Council is doing everything it can to protect Worcestershire’s most vulnerable at this time.

That’s the message from Elaine Carolan, the Interim Strategic Director for People Services with responsibility for Adult Social Care.

Elaine has thanked staff for their ‘massive efforts’ in responding to the challenges brought about by the Coronavirus pandemic. She has praised the dedication and hard work of staff and partners.

Elaine Carolan, Interim Strategic Director for People Services says: “I want to reassure all Worcestershire residents and everyone who is working very hard at this difficult time, that Worcestershire County Council will ensure that the most vulnerable people in our society are protected and supported.”

The council is working with partners across the county to ensure care providers and frontline staff have access to Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and food supply to care providers and individuals where needed. In addition, progress is being made in terms of testing individuals and staff.

Councillor Adrian Hardman cabinet member for Adult Social Care, added: “I couldn’t be prouder of the way our staff have responded to this pandemic so far. I hope we have reassured people in Worcestershire, that we are working well with partners and responding well to the challenges.”
