With further rainfall expected across the county this weekend, it is important that residents have all the key information and contacts available to them if local flooding occurs.

During all of the recent flooding the County Council’s Highways, Flood Risk Management and Emergency Planning Teams have worked extremely closely with colleagues from the Environment Agency, district councils, Severn Trent Water and the emergency services.

This has ensured that the situation has been constantly monitored and appropriately responded to.

Across the county, the clean-up operation has seen flooded residents and businesses supported, road sweepers out, gullies and drainage systems checked and cleaned and road closure signs and barriers removed.

But with further rainfall expected and with the ground still saturated residents are advised to check out the information provided on the ‘Flood Advice’ section of the county council website. This page contains individual links to the flooding advice pages for the individual six district councils.

When flooding is predicted, sandbags are available at the following locations across the county:

  • The Depot, Aston Road, Bromsgrove
  • Tan Yard Lane Car Park, Bromsgrove
  • Cross Gates Depot, Redditch
  • Gardners Meadow, Bewdley
  • Vale Road car park, Stourport
  • Civic Centre, Pershore
  • Green Street Depot frontage, Kidderminster
  • Chapel Street car park, Evesham
  • Lido Car Park, Worcester Road, Droitwich Spa
  • Council Depot in Pendragon Close, Malvern

Sandbags may also be available at East Waterside, Upton.

Residents are advised to keep hold of existing sandbags they may already have.
