Has the latest series of Who Do You Think You Are got you wanting to know more about your family history?

If so, a series of ‘Starting Family History' workshops will be held throughout October to help you begin your search.

The workshops will be hosted at The Hive on the 10th, 17th & 24th October between 2-4pm.

Family History is very popular and the autumn is always a busy time for people wanting to begin investigating.

Lots of people intend to start tracing their family history and may make a start, but often people are not sure where to begin, what the different sources are, and can feel overwhelmed.

Councillor Lucy Hodgson, Worcestershire County Council’s Cabinet Member with Responsibility for Communities said: "Family history is fascinating, but often people don't know where to start. These workshops will help explain what to do and how to get started here in The Hive, where we have the expertise and resources to help.”.

The Archive and Archaeology Service have been helping people get started with their family history for years, offering advice and tips, and in this three part workshop we will help explain how to begin, what sources to look at, and where to look.

Places are £20 and need to be booked in advance.

People can book via the Hive's website. For more information, please email explorethepast@worcestershire.gov.uk or ring 01905 766352.
