Councillor Adrian Hardman and officers from Adult Social Care will be returning to Bromsgrove Market this Friday, to talk to local people about making decisions about their future.
Councillor Adrian Hardman, Cabinet Member for Adult Social Care, said: “Our summer engagement events have so far proved a great opportunity to talk to Worcestershire’s residents about staying independent for as long as possible, and the importance of discussing your wishes for future care.
Noticing little changes in your health and activity, like struggling to cut your own toenails, is really important. These can be signs of reducing mobility and linked to ageing, so it may be the time to start thinking and planning for the future. “
The engagement events provide another opportunity for local people to come along and find out how they can stay independent for longer, and find out the best way to put across your future wishes regarding care to your friends and family.
Social workers and colleagues from the Worcestershire Association of Carers will be available to talk about future decisions such staying in your own home or choosing to move into retirement living, as well decisions on care if you become ill.
The ‘Making Decisions About Your Future' roadshows will then travel to the Kingfisher Shopping Centre on 12 July, and to Tesco Extra Redditch on the 26 July, between 10am to 2pm.
