The programme of works aimed at relieving congestion along Croft Road in Worcester are progressing well.
The scheme is on schedule to be completed at the end of the month.
To achieve this, the existing road surface needs to be removed and replaced on its new alignment.
This replacement will take place on the evening of Sunday 19th May between 5:30pm and 6am and the evenings of Monday 20th to Thursday 23rd May (inclusive) between 9pm and 6am.
It is anticipated that the majority of works planned for Sunday 19th May can be completed under two-way temporary traffic lights with a full road closure only being required after midnight; however, the road will be fully closed on the other evenings for safety reasons.
A diversion will be signposted for motorists during the road closures. Pedestrians will be largely unaffected during the works due to the installation of the temporary crossing and minor pedestrian diversions, which will are already in place.
Access to the Cattle Market Car Park from Croft Road will remain closed for the duration of the scheme, so vehicles wishing to use the car park are advised to use The Butts entrance.
