New Worcester Secondary School – Academy Sponsor Update 

Worcestershire County Council Cabinet approved the proposal to establish a new 600 place secondary school in Worcester to meet the increased demand for school places in November 2021.

The school will be delivered by Worcestershire County Council and run by an Academy Sponsor. The Tender process to appoint the Academy Sponsor started in March 2022 and was carried out in accordance with the Council’s Procurement Procedures and following the Department for Education (DfE) Free School Presumption Process.

This Tender has now closed.

Applications have been evaluated and a recommendation has been made to the Department for Education who have confirmed that the final decision for the successful candidate will be announced in the Autumn term.
