Reading Ahead encourages and supports young people and adults with their reading
The Reading Ahead programme helps people to build up their confidence with reading and can also help to open new opportunities for those who take part. From 2015 to 216 around 45,000 people took part through public libraries.
How it works:
- contact your local library and you will receive a reading diary and you are encouraged to read 6 things
- you can read what you like from poems, magazines, websites as well as books, such as Quick Reads
- ask at the library for advice on what to read and if you need further support
- get a certificate when you finish all 6 reads and complete your diary
You can find out more information at the Reading Ahead website.
