Opening hours

In line with government guidelines our original archive area will close from Thursday 5 November.

We plan to re-open on Thursday 3 December when we should be open Tues-Thurs by appointment only and bookings must be made one week in advance. Self-service archive area will remain closed for the moment.

Please keep checking our Explore the Past website (opens in a new window) and social media for updates and information on when bookings will re-open.

We will be able to respond to enquires so if you have any queries regarding future bookings, references or items to look up. Please see our enquires policy on the Explore the Past website (opens in a new window) for details.

The Historic Environment Record continues to answer enquiries using the online enquiry system and should reopen the public desk by appointment only from 3 December.
