Coronavirus (COVID-19) library information

All libraries are now open

  • some libraries are still operating reduced opening hours, please check your local library page before you visit
  • we are no longer limiting customer numbers and seating will be available throughout library spaces
  • it is no longer mandatory to wear a face-covering when visiting your library. However, the government suggests you continue to wear one in crowded and indoor spaces where you may encounter people you do not normally meet
  • to promote a safe environment for staff and customers, good ventilation of all public areas (including meeting rooms for hire) will be maintained along with good hand hygiene and surface cleaning
  • customers showing COVID-19-symptoms are asked not to enter library buildings

Loans, reservations and returns

Computers and study desks

  • computers and desk spaces are now available on demand
  • customers can reserve a PC online to guarantee availability, or call the customer contact centre on 01905 822722 (Mon-Fri 9am – 5pm)

Events and activities

  • events and activities for all ages are gradually returning to libraries
  • ‘Storytime for under 5’s’ is available in most libraries; contact your local library for details
