Reserve Your Library Books

From 12 April 2021 libraries are open for browsing and borrowing.

Reserve & Collect Service

From 1 May 2021 the standard 80p reservation charge will be re-introduced.

Customers can reserve books using the normal online reservation process or by calling the Customer Contact Centre on 01905 822722 (Monday - Friday, 9am – 5pm)

Items can be reserved online via the library catalogue by clicking on the ‘reserve this item’ button.  You can also select which library you would like to collect the item from.  Please note some books, such as reference books, special collections and University core texts cannot be reserved.

You will receive an email when your reservation is ready to collect. Please check we have your correct e-mail address by reviewing your personal information once you have logged in to your library account.

Normally reservations are ready in a few days but it can take up to 3 weeks or possibly longer depending on the number of additional reservations held on a title.

From 12 April 2021 customers will be able to collect reserved titles from their library reservation shelf in the normal way and check out using self-service machines. Library staff will be on hand to support customers who would prefer to collect books from library entrances.

Children’s Book Bundles

Parents and carers of children in Early Years Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1 can request a bundle of up to 6 books on their child’s library ticket to collect from their local library. Whether it’s picture books for bedtime stories, easy readers for young children starting their reading journey or non-fiction books for fact-finding missions, library staff will put together a bundle of books based on your requirements.

Digital Library

Customers can download eBooks, eAudiobooks, eNewspapers and eMagazines from the Digital Library.
