A - Z of Resident Services:

In-house Training

In-house training is the opportunity to host training within your own organisation rather than sending staff to external training venues.

Who is it for?

The opportunity for in-house training is available to all private, independent and voluntary care providers who that are registered with Worcestershire County Council's PIVOTAL Services.

In order to hold the training in-house you must have a suitable room for training.  If you do not have a room available you will still be able to access local training by joining other nearby providers.

You will also need to ensure that the minimum attendance required for the courses are met (please see individual course outlines).  If you are unable to release this number of staff per session other  providers can be invited to attend in order to bring the attendance up to the number required.

How will it work?

You are required to register for PIVOTAL prior to being eligible for all services.

Once approved you can download a copy of the In-house Nomination Form from our website and let us know which courses you would like to access and your preferred dates.

Course outlines are available for you to view.  Please note that many of the full day courses can be made available to in-house provision as half day courses, (this may in some instances impact on receiving an accredited qualification).  If you wish to discuss this please contact the Centre.

What do I need to do?

You must adhere to the terms and conditions set out in the contract failure to do so may mean that you are excluded from the service in the future.

What will I achieve?

When accessing the in-house training option you will experience the following benefits:

  • Increased accessibility to training
  • Training made easier to implement as links can be made with the environment in which it is set
  • The ability to training larger numbers of staff together encouraging a culture shift towards best practice
  • The opportunity to link up with other local providers through training networks giving opportunities to share training places, best practice and resources
  • The opportunity to plan your training throughout the year keeping standards up and meeting inspection criteria
  • Individual training records for your staff and organisation

If you would like to discuss the in-house training options please do not hesitate to contact the Centre on 01905 23368 or smcammon@worcestershire.gov.uk.
