Worcestershire Future Fit - Corporate Plan 2013-2017
I believe it is vital that Corporate Plans are
refreshed and revised on a regular basis and some further 18 months
after we first launched ‘Fit for the Future’ I think it is right
that we take stock and reflect on the successes and changes and new
challenges that we face.
It has to be a live document that reflects the world that we are
in, and not the one that we would wish it to be. It should build
upon the long term thinking that has been going on in the County
over the past 18 months. It is reasonable to reflect upon the aims
but also to reflect the changes in the world we live.

The areas of focus that we centred on for our Corporate Plan
remain our key drivers for the Council
- Open for Business
- Children and Families
- The Environment
- Health and Well Being
I absolutely reaffirm that we must engage constantly in talking
to our communities so that the vulnerable do not feel unheard and
understand the changes that are taking place and that we in turn
listen and consider their responses before we make those
In conclusion, change is never easy but if we are an open and
transparent Council where people understand the reasons why we are
doing it, while we listen to our communities and indeed they listen
to us, while we see changing and devolved powers as being progress,
but are driven by our communities: not by dogma, then we will truly
move to being the great Council that I aspire for us to be.

We haven't printed copies of our plan because it saves money
and natural resources.
