Bishops Wood Coppice Crafts

Our tranquil surroundings make Bishops Wood a fabulous place to come and work with nature, to bring to life these traditional skills and crafts. 

Our Leisure courses and workshops are designed to be fun, relaxing and informative. 

  • Suitable for all adults from complete beginners and those wishing to increase their knowledge and skills.
  • Bush Craft courses delivered by Level 4 qualified Bush Craft Instructor
  • Small groups sizes
  • All materials, tools, instruction and handouts are provided
  • Locally sourced lunch is provided on all full one day
  • Make sure you have enough space in your car to take away what you make!
  • We can accommodate group bookings on specific dates, by arrangement

Introduction to Crochet

Always fancied learning how to crochet?  This is the workshop for you. An informal friendly gathering at our unique and inspiring centre where you will be introduced to the very basics of crocheting.

Interested in keeping bees?

Keen to learn more about these fascinating visitors to your garden?

This course will provide you with an understanding of bees, their role in nature, their instincts and behaviour and how we can work with them to give us crops of honey and wax.

An Introduction to Beekeeping course will be run in April, details to be confirmed.

Creative photography

Do your photos feel a little bit stale? Come to this workshop to learn how to take photos in a more creative way.  Learn the secrets of producing photo's with the real 'Wow' factor!

Making Bread At Home

Bread At Home aims to promote home bread making by teaching you how to make your own additive-free bread in our relaxed bread making workshops.

 
Baking your own bread can be one of the most enjoyable things once you know how to do it.  Avoid buying bags of bread mix and special bread making ovens.
 
This workshop is an introduction to bread making where you will learn how to knead dough to produce a good, well textured loaf.  You will make flat breads and pizzas with Janice guiding you along the way.  Janice will demonstrate how to use these techniques to make a basic loaf of bread.
 
A light lunch is included and the workshop will run from 10:00am to 2:00pm.
 
You will need to bring an apron and a linen (not cotton) tea towel.
