Training to support meeting the needs of anxious pupils

The Educational Psychology team have secured funding from the NHS to deliver the anxiety and emotionally based school avoidance training free to all schools in the county.

The aims are:

  • increase our awareness and understanding of anxiety including gaining information from individual pupils about their unique experiences
  • develop understanding of evidence-based approaches which schools can use to help children to reduce pupil anxiety
  • to understand Emotionally Based School Avoidance (EBSA) including prevention and re-integration

We are offering 3 places per school per course date and are advising alternative provision schools to attend the course most relevant to the age band they work with.
