With the support of the Autism and CCN Team this student achieved in their exams

Challenge

Female year eleven student struggling with revision and study. 

Approach

  • the school requested revision study support from the Autism and CCN Team
  • initial assessment of thinking and learning styles, followed by discussion of aspirations
  • trialled ideas for revision based on learning style
  • practised the chosen revision method
  • support provided on transferring the skills learned, included methods to use at home
  • provided a framework for approaching exams and managing revision

Outcome

The student gained grades of six, seven and eight in her exams and went on to study her chosen subjects at Sixth Form.
