Training Providers can expect the following from Worcestershire County Council
Recruitment and Marketing
Our Support Officers have a wide range of contacts with schools, professionals and several other Support Services all focussed on young people. Our Support Officers actively promote the Provision at careers fairs and at other similar events throughout the year, whilst also providing individual IAG to young people who are unsure of which course or Provider would suit them best. We are members of the Worcestershire Training Provider's Association and work closely with Worcestershire Business Central and Worcestershire Apprenticeship Group.
We produce a range of marketing materials to promote our Training Providers and we cover the cost of this. This includes a comprehensive guide detailing all our Providers and their courses. Notably in previous years we have acquired funding to produce a radio advertisement on Youthcomm Radio, and a promotional video which was taken on a Roadshow around several shopping centres across Worcestershire.
Training support administration
Our Business Support Officer, Jade Fowler, manages all aspects of the 16-19 Training Support Allowance. Jade processes and assesses all applications, and ensures successful applicants receive the appropriate funding, processing payments in accordance with the learner's attendance. In order to do this, Providers must regularly submit learner's attendance to us so that payments can be processed quickly.
Training and networking
We run regular Quality Meetings and Training Days for our Providers, which enables everyone to come together to share good practice and ensure we are up to date with contract requirements. We have funded comprehensive training and CPD for individual Provider's staff members in Safeguarding, Health and Safety, Information, Advice and Guidance. The Contract Manager and Business Support Officer also regularly visit Providers to offer support and to ensure we are providing the best possible provision for our young people.
Business Support Officers
Katie Birch and Bryan Craven are the Participation Officers for 2 Counties Training. Their role is to provide support to our learners whilst on programme. They can support you in identifying any barriers to learning and offer support in finding solutions. They could assist you with travel training, identifying and accessing other support services and thinking about your next steps moving forward. Their aim is to work alongside our Providers to help you to build confidence, motivation and self-belief so that everyone feels confident to progress positively into their futures.
We hold the licences for several resources and online tools and support Providers in the use of PICS Database, OneFile and Outcome Star.
