Worcestershire Local Economic Assessment 2010-2011: Key Issues Consultation
|
Background
The Local Democracy, Economic Development and Construction (LDEDC) Act 2009 places a new Statutory Duty on all upper tier and unitary authorities to prepare an assessment of the economic conditions of their area from the 1st April 2010.
In Worcestershire, Worcestershire County Council is responsible for completing the Local Economic Assessment (LEA).
The LEA will provide local authorities and partners with a comprehensive picture of local economic conditions and priorities. This will strengthen their ability to inform policies in all service areas which have the potential to impact upon the local economy, whilst contributing to the delivery of sustainable economic development.
We have prepared a consultation document outlining our view of key issues for the Worcestershire economy now and in the coming years. The document, which is intended to act as a prompt for discussion, can be found at: Key Issues Consultation Document
|
In order to ensure the LEA accurately reflects the strengths, weaknesses, challenges and opportunities facing the Worcestershire economy as seen by authorities, partners and stakeholders across the county, we would be very grateful if you would take time to respond to this consultation.
Although the Local Economic Assessment will cover a broad range of topics and issues, the ultimate focus is on the economy. We therefore ask respondents to explicitly state the links between issues they wish to raise and the Worcestershire economy.
Further guidance about how to respond is provided in the consultation document.
