Exploring Family History Websites

Published Monday, 26th September 2016

Worcestershire Archive and Archaeology Service are offering workshops to help people explore family history websites.

Worcestershire Archive & Archaeology Service offer free access to two key family website in The Hive (Ancestry.co.uk and Find My Past). These websites have a huge amount of information for family historians.

However it can be hard to know where to start and what information the websites contain. These workshops will help explain the different sources within the websites and which are the most useful.

The second half of the workshops will allow attendees to use the computers to have a go at searching the websites.

The Ancestry.co.uk workshop will take place from 2-4pm on Thursday 13 October at the Explore the Past floor, Level 2, The Hive.

The Find My Past workshop will run from 2-4pm on Thursday 20 October on the same floor at The Hive.

Paul Hudson, Learning & Outreach Manager, Worcestershire Archive & Archaeology Service, said: "Our workshops have always been popular because they help people get the most out of these great family history websites which are free to access in The Hive. Tracing your ancestors is as popular as ever, and these workshops will help you use some of the best resources for getting started."

Places are limited and need to be booked. Places cost £6 each.
