The Worcestershire County Council 'Enterprise Bus', will be touring libraries, children's centres and museums this Easter break, bringing family fun and competitions to local communities.
The bus will be on tour during the last week of March and the first week of April, and will be making a special visit to Sainsbury's Blackpole Store on Wednesday 6 April from 1.30-3.30pm. So look out for information at your local library and be ready for when the bus comes to town…
Children and their parents or carers can learn how to create a colourful painting using a computer programme, and then enter their work into a competition – children could win a £10 Book Token and the prize for adults is a free place on an Adult Learning Course up to the value of £100.
The bus is a highly flexible space, and can be hired for a range of functions including meetings, promotions, recruitment, workplace learning and training, and SME support in rural areas.
On-board is a satellite dish and eight desktop computers, meaning the bus can be used independently, with its own portable power supply and standalone broadband connection. The suspension can also be adjusted for easy access.
The Bus travels across the county promoting digital access for learning, volunteering and work opportunities, customers can also get support to use their 'Digital Prescription' to improve personal Health & Well-Being.
The Enterprise Bus can be used to provide rural businesses with flexible tailored training, a mobile recruitment venue, or be used for outreach to support Work Search, helping job seekers access online job search, CV profiling, emails, cover letters, job applications and interview practice. In addition, the bus can be used for assessment and delivery of online English & Maths courses and as a venue for Information, Advice & Guidance Service.
Kathy Kirk, Strategic Libraries and Learning Manager said: "The Enterprise Bus is a fantastic mobile resource for so many people, catering for people without easy access to such a wide range of facilities. The possibilities really are endless. I would encourage people to come along to one of the dates during the Easter Road Trip, and see exactly what the Enterprise Bus has to offer."
