Bromsgrove Library is participating in Sajid Javid MP's Bromsgrove Jobs Fair on Friday 5 February 2016.

In partnership with Bromsgrove District Council and Jobcentre Plus, Bromsgrove Library will be hosting stands and workshops and offering opportunities for people to join the library and use free computer facilities to produce CV's and complete online job applications.

Attendees will also be invited to join the Library's Job Club, which will be running on a weekly basis beginning on Monday 8 February from 10-11.30am.

Job Clubs are a Libraries and Learning 'community led' initiative, which provide a weekly support service to help unemployed people get back into work. Worcestershire's Job Clubs have a knowledgeable volunteer staff, who are able to help with all aspects of job search, provide free advice and guidance with CV's and job applications, and work hard to make sure individuals get the support they need to find work.

Cllr Lucy Hodgson, Cabinet Member with Responsibility for Localism and Communities said: "The new Bromsgrove Library is a focal point of the community, offering many services and facilities, and we are very pleased that visitor numbers and memberships are on the up.

"We are delighted that Sajid Javid MP is bringing his Jobs Fair to Parkside. Helping people back into work is of huge importance, and the information and services available will make a significant contribution to that effort."

Bromsgrove MP, Sajid Javid, added: “It’s great to have the support of Bromsgrove Library at my Jobs Fair.

"The Fair’s new location at Parkside and the community spirit of the Library means that I’ve been able to bring in even more employers and advisors than last year.

It’s set to be a brilliant event and I hope plenty of residents come along to make the most of this exciting opportunity for a fresh start”.

Bromsgrove Library, which is now on the site of the old Parkside School, Bromsgrove is a brand new facility with free internet access, regular and holiday children's activities, adult learning courses and a meeting room available for hire.
