As part of the week-long heritage celebration 'Love Worcester', The Hive will be running a special tour with a Tudor flavour on Tuesday 16 February from 2-3.30pm.
Visitors will get the chance to examine the archives and see the marriage bond of William Shakespeare and associated entry in the Bishop's register. There will also be the opportunity to see Shakespeare's grandfather's will, 16th Century items including pottery found during digs in the county, talks about the visit of Queen Elizabeth I to Worcester, preparations in the City's records, and view illuminated documents of the period.
Paul Hudson, Outreach manager, said, "For this tour for Love Worcester we will focus on Shakespeare's marriage bond, as well as showing visitors the range of documents and archaeology from the Tudor period which we have here. It is a fascinating period in history we have some amazing items in the collections here."
Places are £5 and need to be booked in advance. People can book via http://www.thehiveworcester.org.uk/.
