Major repairs to Droitwich Library lift

Published Friday, 4th December 2015

Major repairs to the lift at Droitwich Library will get underway in the New Year.

Works are expected to start on replacing the old lift on Monday 18 January., with no lift access to the first floor during the 6 week insulation.

The library will remain open throughout the works and provisions are being made for PCs to be available on the ground floor and library staff will continue to work with contractors to keep disruption to a minimum for service users.

There may be some restrictions on material available for borrowing during these weeks but books and other items can be borrowed and returned as usual.

Bev Orlowsky, Droitwich Library Manager said: "I am pleased that this major repair work is scheduled for the new year. I would ask visitors to the library to bear with us for a few weeks as the work is carried out".

Works are expected to be complete by Saturday 12 March.
