Get your children in the mood for Christmas with children's Theatre at The Hive this December

Published Thursday, 3rd December 2015

On December 12 the Rhubarb Theatre will be performing The Amazing Adventures of Librarian Lil, in the Studio at The Hive.

Librarian Lil has worked in the library for forty-five years. She is old, tired and bored with her life. But you can't judge a book by its cover. For once the pages start to rustle; Librarian Lil is sucked into a whirlwind of words where tales and bravery become reality. Transported to other worlds, she sails the seas, performs great feats of daring and wins the hearts of princes and audiences alike.

There will be two performances, one at 3pm and one at 6pm.  It is suitable for children aged five years and older.  Ticket for adults cost £5 and children £3, (babes in arms free). For anyone with a Uniquely Worcester Exclusive Offers Card, you can buy two tickets for the price of one (the price paid is the highest price ticket if tickets of different values are bought, offer ends 5 December).

Also taking place at The Hive on December 12, between the performances, at approximately 2pm and 4pm, Chadsgrove Special School Choir will be singing in the atrium.

Earlier in the day, from 10.30am is a free drop-in session to find out how the Elizabethans celebrated Christmas.  Discover how they decorated their homes, learn about their fantastic festive feasts and make an Elizabethan Christmas decoration to take home.

Laura Worsfold, Business Development Manager at The Hive said: "This is a beautiful family show with magical heart-warming theme to fill you with Christmas cheer.  It is being performed at The Hive by Rhubarb Theatre for children aged five years and over, next Saturday. It's just the thing to get your young ones in the Christmas spirit and we are expecting it to be very busy. There are still tickets available from the Hive, but do get them in advance to avoid disappointment."
