Discover the history behind your home

The popular House History workshop will once again be on offer this Autumn at The Hive thanks to Worcestershire Archive and Archaeology Service.

House History is increasingly popular, as people look to find out the history of their house or another building of interest.

The Worcestershire Archive & Archaeology Service at The Hive houses lots of documentary evidence to help tell the story, including maps, directory, photos and census.

The workshop will go through the main sources, using a couple of local buildings as case studies, and go through how to search the catalogues and indexes.

The workshop takes place on Saturday 3 October between 10am and 1pm at Explore the Past Floor, level 2, The Hive.

Paul Hudson, Learning & Outreach Manager, Worcestershire Archive & Archaeology Service, said, "People often come in to ask about their house's past, and this is a great way to understand the many sources which can help you to discover the history of the building and the people who lived there."

Places are limited and need to be booked at £10 each at www.thehiveworcester.org/events. For more information telephone 01905 766352 or email explorethepast@worcestershire.gov.uk.
