Plant lovers and keen photographers from across the county will be pleased to hear about an upcoming orchid walk, organised by Worcestershire County Councils Countryside Team.

The free guided walk is to take place on Tuesday 16 June at Fish Hill Picnic Place, near Broadway at 2pm. Renowned for its orchids, Fish Hill boasts six different species of the native bloom as well as limestone grassland and beech woodlands.

Species of orchid include the Common Spotted Orchid, Twayblades, White Helliborines and Bee Orchids which flower between May and August.

Tanya Feasey Assistant Countryside Sites Officer said: "Fish Hill Picnic Place is one of the best sites for orchids in the county. This is a great opportunity to come and see the orchids, learn more about this fascinating plant and capture some breath taking photographs."

The walk will leave from the car park and will take an hour to 1.5 hours. For more information please contact us on 01905 766155
