Uncover Secrets In Maps Of Worcestershire

Published Friday, 17th October 2014

A popular workshop looking at old maps of Worcestershire is taking place next month.

The Explore Maps course takes place on Monday, November 3 at The Hive in Worcester and the last two similar workshops sold out.

Worcestershire County Council's Archive and Archaeology Service has a vast range of maps for people to examine in order to find out more about local history and archaeology.

Paul Hudson, Learning & Outreach Manager, said: "Maps are fascinating and are very visual so always attract attention. In this workshop we'll help people discover more about the many types of maps which we have and how to search our collections so people can get the most out of them."

Cllr Lucy Hodgson, Cabinet Member for Localism and Communities, said: "This is an interesting way of uncovering information about our past and always popular with local people."

Places need to be booked on the course which runs from 10am to 3pm with a break in the middle and tickets cost £12.
