The registration of births are resuming tomorrow (10th June), at four sites across Worcestershire.
The four sites re-opening are those in Worcester (County Hall), Bromsgrove, Redditch and Kidderminster.
The offices are open strictly by appointment only and for no other purpose in order to limit none essential visits.
The two further sites in Malvern and Evesham will not be re-opening tomorrow, as they are situated in libraries that remain closed.
From tomorrow, appointments to register births can be made using an online booking system on the dedicated pages on the County Council website: http://www.worcestershire.gov.uk/info/20000/birth_death_marriage_civil_partnership_and_citizenship
Measures have been put in place across all sites to protect both staff and visitors to the offices. These include staggered appointment times, hand sanitiser available on site and screens.
Councillor Lucy Hodgson, Cabinet Member for Communities, said: “Our registrations team have been working really hard to prepare four of our offices for re-opening and to ensure staff and visitors remain safe. Visits are to be made by appointment only, and we are asking that customers arrive at their appointment time and not before.”
Birth Registrations have been suspended since late March following government guidelines to do so.
