It’s time to don your walking boots and head out into the beautiful Worcestershire countryside.
Evesham’s first Walking Festival will be coming to Worcestershire, during the first week of July.
Evesham Rambling Club is running the festival in partnership with Worcestershire County Council, Evesham Town Council and Worcestershire’s Vale & Spa.
A week-long programme featuring 15 walks, will take walkers around the Vale of Evesham, Cotswold Edge and the surrounding areas, exploring some of the best Worcestershire has to offer.
Alan Saunders, Evesham Rambling Club said: “We’ve put a lot of thought into the week’s programme with many walks having a theme and some featuring talks or activities.
“We’ve been working hard to ensure the Public Rights of Way included in the festival are maintained in the run up to the festival, and have graded each walk by ‘easy’ or ‘moderate’ so anyone can join in, no matter their ability.”
Councillor John Smith, Cabinet Member with Responsibility for Health and Wellbeing at Worcestershire County Council said: “We know that walking improves both physical and mental health and we encourage people who are able to, to walk briskly for at least ten minutes a day.
“Walking festivals such as these are a great way to improve health, meet likeminded people and visit some of the amazing walking routes in Worcestershire.”
All walks are free but donations to Evesham Rambling Club are welcome.
