The date for the next Arts and Health Symposium held by New Prescriptions has been announced.
New Prescriptions, one of the sub groups of the Worcestershire Arts Partnership, is holding its next Arts and Health Symposium for those who want to know more intergenerational arts and social prescribing.
It's taking place at The Hive, Worcester on Tuesday 5 June from 9.30am to 2.30pm. This is a free event and is aimed at those who work in the arts and or in health place.
Rachel Adams from Wyldwood Arts will give a talk about intergenerational arts and Lucy Chick from the Worcestershire Health Improvement team will be discussing social prescribing in Worcestershire.
There will also be opportunities to collaborate as well as performances by Reaction Theatre Makers ‘Inter-Act’, EVERYBODY DANCE and photos of an exhibition by Sight Concern. There will also be a networking lunch to meet new people.
Jenny Davis, Chair of New Prescriptions said: "I am delighted to put on this traditional event for the first time as Chair. There has been a real interest recently in intergenerational arts and I’m curious to find out more about its health benefits.
"I’m also pleased we have Lucy Chick along to talk about social prescribing in Worcestershire which will hopefully be such a key link to the GP’s.
"We welcome people from all cultural and health sectors which should make it a very thought provoking day."
Worcestershire County Council's Cabinet Member with Responsibility for Communities – Councillor Lucy Hodgson added: "'The arts can have a real role to play in keeping people healthy and we are delighted that Worcestershire Arts Partnership is organising this event.
"It's a great opportunity for the arts sector and the health sector to work together and contribute to the wider arts and health agenda."
