Worcestershire’s leading new theatre and writing showcase will be coming to the Palace Theatre in Redditch on 18th May 2018 for the first time.
The project is funded by the Arts Council England and Worcestershire County Council and co-ordinated by the Worcestershire Arts Partnership and Worcestershire County Council.
Jump Start has so far showcased over 35 new plays and performances by theatre makers in the county and wider region.
After previous performance evenings at the Malvern Cube, Jump Start now comes to the Studio Theatre at the Palace Theatre in Redditch.
Project co-ordinators Steve Wilson and Lee Farley said: "We are really delighted to be taking Jump Start to the Palace and to work with the team there."
Cabinet Member with Responsibility for Communities, Councillor Lucy Hodgson said "It's good to see Jump Start go from strength to strength and to be supporting both returning writers and new ones. Supporting new writing is a real strength within the County and the County Council are proud to be the driving force behind it."
For the May showcase there are 5 plays being performed, with 5 writers presenting their talents; Richard Monk, Noah Kilworth, Lacey Moody, Emily Holyoake and Rob Joiner.
Richard is new to Jump Start while the other writers are returning to the scheme.
Included is a play about modern day feminism, a black comedy about the death of a cat and a play about having teenage health problems.
After the performances there will be an opportunity to meet the writers through a Q&A session.
The event is free with a recommended donation of £5.
