Trio of companies win the Queen's Enterprise Award

Three Worcestershire companies have been recognised for their outstanding achievements after receiving a Queen's Enterprise Award.

The accolade recognises the successes of UK businesses in the categories of innovation, international trade, sustainable development and promoting opportunity through social mobility.


Local companies awarded include The First Class Pet Company Ltd for international trade, Metrasens Ltd for innovation and TP3 Global Ltd for international trade.


Councillor Ken Pollock, Cabinet Member for Economy and Infrastructure at Worcestershire County Council, said: "I would like to congratulate Metrasens Ltd, The First Class Pet Company and TP3 Global Ltd for winning The Queen's Enterprise Award.


"For three Worcestershire companies to win the highest business award in the UK is a testament to the county as a base for growing businesses.


"I hope this encourages more companies to relocate to Worcestershire."


The Lord-Lieutenant of Worcestershire, Lt Col Patrick Holcroft will be awarding the trophies to these companies later in the year. As winners of the award the companies will be able to fly The Queen’s Award flag at their office and use the emblem for marketing materials. They will also be invited to a Royal reception.


The First Class Pet Company, the team behind the brand Little BigPaw, has been awarded with The Queens Award for International Trade in recognition of Outstanding Growth in Overseas Sales.


Little BigPaw is a premium range of pet foods and treats, made in the UK with British ingredients Jim Weston Co-Founder and Director of Little BigPaw said: “We are absolutely thrilled to receive this Award. It is a huge honour and an outstanding reward for all the hard work put in by our staff and dedicated distributors."


Metrasens Ltd., a Malvern based company that provides advanced magnetic detection technologies used in hospitals, prisons and government and commercial facilities won the award in the category of Innovation.


Dr. Simon Goodyear, CEO, Metrasens, said: “To be recognised with the Queen’s Award in the category of Innovation is a testament to the unprecedented advancements achieved by our team of physicists and engineers."


TP3 Global, a leading global innovator and provider of thermal protection for temperature sensitive cargo, has been awarded the Queen’s Awards for Enterprise in the International Trade category for its SilverskinTM brand.
