Worcestershire Archive & Archaeology Service is hosting a free workshop on behalf of The Three Counties Traditional Orchards Project.
Taking place on Thursday, March 22 from 2-4.30pm at Pershore Library, the workshop will provide expert advice on the use of maps and records for research purposes.
There will also be some case studies of what can be found about orchards.
Paul Hudson, from Worcestershire Archive & Archaeology Service, said: "Local history fascinates many but often people are not sure what sources are available to tell the story of their community.
"We'll have plenty of local examples to show what can be uncovered."
The Three Counties Traditional Orchards Project is funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund.
