There is still time to join 700 Redditch residents and earn points by reducing waste and recycling more.

Residents in Redditch are being reminded that the Rewarding Redditch Scheme is open for signups now.

The points accumulated through the campaign can be swapped for vouchers such as Red Letter Days and Interflora.

The campaign is very simple; sign up, see what activities you can do to reduce your waste, report that you’ve done it via the website and save up your points. You can swap your points locally, for example at the Palace Theatre or Church Hill Chippy, or use them for national rewards managed by Greenredeem, on behalf of Worcestershire County Council.

Councillor Tony Miller, Cabinet Member with Responsibility for the Environment at Worcestershire County Council said: "The Rewarding Redditch campaign is an innovative way to encourage the residents of Redditch to reduce their waste with very little effort and the rewards in return are varied and exciting - perfect with Christmas just around the corner.

"You can even be rewarded for telling your friends and neighbours about the Rewarding Redditch campaign. I would encourage as many residents in Redditch to sign up for this campaign as it will be a win-win for everyone concerned; residents will be rewarded and Worcestershire County Council will save money by cutting the amount of waste it disposes of, which can then be spent elsewhere in the county."

Residents can also donate their points to local charities, who at the end of the campaign will receive a share of £1000 according to the number of points donated.
