Starting family History workshops

Local residents interested in researching their family history are invited to two workshops.

Lots of people intend to start tracing their family history and may make a start, but often people are not sure where to begin, what the different sources are, and can feel overwhelmed.

We have been helping people with their family history for years, and in this two part workshop we will help explain how to get started, what sources to look at, and where to look.

The workshops will take place on Wednesday 4 and Wednesday 11 October, from 2-4.30pm at The Hive.

Some searching will be on computer so participants should be familiar with using computers.

Paul Hudson, Outreach manager, said: "Family history is fascinating, but often people don't know where to start. These workshops will help explain what to do and how to get started here in The Hive, where we have the expertise and resources to help".

Places are £15 and need to be booked in advance.
