A bumper Bounce and Rhyme is being held at The Hive on Tuesday 23 May from 10am to 12.30pm.
Anyone with a child under 5 years can take part. Bounce and Rhyme is a fun and friendly session with singing, rhymes and stories for children under 5 years and their parents and carers, and on Tuesday 23 May it will be an especially big session.
After a fun and interactive 30 minutes of singing parents, carers and their children can find out what else is on offer locally for children under 5 years and their families.
The Hive and libraries across Worcestershire run lots of regular Bounce and Rhyme sessions because babies and children who discover the pleasure of hearing stories and rhymes have a flying start when it comes to learning to read themselves.
The Hive's weekly free activities for under 5s are: Bounce and Rhyme on Tuesdays – 10 - 10.30am: Wacky Wednesdays on Wednesdays – 1.30 – 3pm; and Baby Bounce and Rhyme on Fridays – 11 – 11.30am.
Janine Downes, The Hive Library Manager said: "Our bumper Bounce and Rhyme session was really popular last year and we have got even more local suppliers supporting the event. It was fantastic to hear such a mass of people joining in with the songs and rhymes. There are so many benefits to children and their parents spending time together and especially when they are sharing stories and rhymes.
"We are hoping we will also be able to encourage anyone who isn't yet a library member to join. It's really quick and easy, membership is free and there are no late fines on children's books."
