Worcestershire County Council's Annual Staff Christmas Quiz has this year raised £255 for charity.
The quiz, attended by over 100 members of staff, was held after work last Thursday (15 December) and the winning team nominated St Paul's Hostel as their chosen recipient.
The evening took on an international theme, with 20 teams each representing a different nation. The winners were Israel, who beat Canada after a tense tie-breaker.
Chairman of the Council, Cllr Tony Miller, presented prizes to the winners, will present the donation of £255 to St Paul's Hostel. There were also bonus prizes for the best dressed team, won by Vatican City.
Cllr Miller said: "The Quiz is an evening of fun for our staff who work so hard throughout the year, but more importantly it raises funds for local good causes, and this year's winners have chosen St Paul's Hostel as their nominated charity. It was a pleasure to present this sum to St Paul's, which is a fantastic cause; offering a helping hand to those who unfortunately are homeless or in need this Christmas."
St Paul's Hostel first opened in 1977, and currently provides accommodation for up to 46 single homeless men and women, and enables residents to lead more settled lifestyles. St Paul's also run a 7 bedded home in Bromyard Road for people who are trying to become drug and alcohol free.
