  • Details of current and any previous jobs
  • Any criminal records
  • Qualifications
  • Name and address of two referees

Eligibility to work in the UK

Before you are appointed, the Council must ensure that you are legally entitled to work in the UK. The Asylum and Immigration Act 1996 requires that all successful candidates will be asked to provide evidence of their immigration status and eligibility to seek work in the UK, this is usually in the form of your Birth Certificate or Passport.

Data Protection Act 1998 - Consent

The information detailed in your application form may be used by the Council in the monitoring and progression of all employment policies and practices, and in particular its Equal Opportunities in Employment Policy. However, your personal details contained in the application form may be used in the prevention and detection of fraud. Where this occurs you will be identifiable. The information may be disclosed to the following third parties:

  • Survey and research organisations (for monitoring purposes only)
  • Local Government Authorities
  • Central Government Authorities
  • Organisations that handle or investigate the proper use of public funds
  • Law Enforcement Authorities

The Council's policy is to destroy unsuccessful applications 12 months after the recruitment decision is made.

Agreement

Please read your completed application form carefully and check for any errors or omissions. False declaration or omissions in support of your application will disqualify you from appointment. If you are appointed, and false declarations or omissions are subsequently discovered, this is likely to lead to disciplinary action and may include dismissal. If you wish to withdraw your application you must ring the number detailed on the vacancy advert. Shortlisted candidates will be required to sign a printed copy of this form at interview.

By submitting the form you confirm that you consent to the Council recording and processing the information detailed in the application form.
