Worcestershire Libraries Service public consultation Summer 2019

Following approval from the County Council's cabinet in July, we are working to develop a Library Strategy. This will set out our longer-term ambitions and help shape how the current service will evolve as a modern library service, working with communities to meet the changing needs of residents over the next 5 - 10 years.
 
Consultation ended: 28 February 2019
Next steps: We expect to present the Library Strategy to Cabinet in December 2019.


Consultation on the draft Graduated Response within Worcestershire March 2019

Where a pupil is identified as having Special Educational Needs, educational establishments should take action to remove barriers to learning and put effective special educational provision in place. This is called SEN support and should take the form of a four-part cycle through which earlier decisions and actions are revisited, refined and revised with a growing understanding of the pupil’s needs and of what support the pupil needs to secure good progress and good outcomes. This is known as the Graduated Response. Read more about the graduated response.

Overnight unit-based short breaks consultation 2019

We have recently run a consultation on a set of proposed changes to two overnight short break units; Osborne Court in Malvern and Ludlow Road in Kidderminster. 

We have listened to this feedback and worked with Worcestershire Health and Care Trust (who currently deliver overnight short breaks at Osborne Court and Ludlow Road) to finalise the proposed changes that will be discussed at a Cabinet meeting on Thursday 26 September 2019. Read more about the Overnight unit-based short breaks consultation 2019.

Emerging Minerals Local Plan: Where we are now August to September 2019

Publication Version Consultation

The Publication Version of the Minerals Local Plan sets out the proposed vision and objectives for mineral development in Worcestershire, and includes the proposed strategic policies and development management policies which will be used to make decisions on planning applications once the plan is adopted. Consultation started: 19 August 2019
Consultation ended: 30 September 2019
Next steps: After this stage of consultation, the Council intends to submit the plan to the Secretary of State, who will appoint an independent inspector to examine the 'soundness' and legal compliance of the plan.


Change of Age Range Policy Consultation September 2019

In October 2016 Cabinet approved a policy for Officers responding to change of age requests from community-maintained schools or change of age range consultations from other types of schools to allow the Council to respond consistently to schools proposing such a change. Next steps: After this stage of the consultation a report will be prepared for Cabinet on the 13 December 2019 to seek approval to any revisions to the Change of Age policy.
