Walking and Cycling Improvements
As part of the Autumn Statement 2016, the Government, via the Department for Transport (DfT) announced the creation of a National Productivity Investment Fund (NPIF) for investment in areas that are key to boosting productivity including a total of £1.1bn for local roads.
The Department for Transport (DfT) invited Local Authorities to bid for a share of this funding for schemes meeting the core aims of the fund to:
- ease congestion and provide upgrades on important national, regional or local routes
- unlock economic and job creation opportunities
- enable the delivery of new housing developments
Worcestershire County Council won two separate bids for part of this fund worth £6.6.
£3.4m of which is this scheme in Bromsgrove and £3.2 for Worcester.
