SEND Education Provision

Post 19 SEND provision

For young people who transition to post 19, provision of an EHC Plan or assessment for a Plan, will only be required where the young person requires longer in education or training to achieve their outcomes and make a transition into adulthood than their peers.

The Local Authority will need to consider whether remaining in education or training will enable the young person to progress and achieve those outcomes and help them prepare for adulthood.

Young people who no longer need to remain in formal education or training will not require an EHC Plan.
