Important changes to the Worcestershire inter-agency safeguarding children procedures

What has changed?

With effect from 1 April 2017 Worcestershire Safeguarding Children Board’s inter-agency safeguarding children procedures will be shared within a consortium of ten local safeguarding children boards from across the West Midlands *

Access the new Inter Agency Procedures

The West Midlands safeguarding children procedures manual will be made up of 3 levels:

  • Level A - Statutory Child Protection Procedures
  • Level B - Regional Safeguarding Guidance
  • Level C - Local Area Specific Safeguarding Information and Procedures

Any existing links in partner agencies’ own procedures or on their websites will need to be updated as they will not work after the West Midlands safeguarding children procedures go live. The new URL address has been circulated to Board members with a request that it be passed to relevant internal staff for the updates to be completed before 1 April 2017.

Once the new procedures have gone live, work will continue to address any early technical glitches and to ensure they are accessible and user-friendly. The content will then routinely be updated on a  quarterly basis.

The Policy and Procedures lead for the Worcestershire Safeguarding Children Board is Sue Haddon, WSCB Business Manager. Sue can be contacted by emailing her at shaddon@worcestershire.gov.uk if you have any specific questions or comments about the new inter-agency procedures.

The WSCB website will continue to provide a link to the safeguarding children procedures.
