Voting for this year's winning title has now closed.

The winner of this year's Awesomest Book Award is 'Funny kid for President' by Matt Stanton.

This was announced at a ceremony to celebrate books and reading and attended by 140 pupils from local schools.
Last year's winner - Chris Callaghan, entertained us with a talk about his approach to writing (and chocolate)
Matt Stanton contacted us to say:

This is such wonderful news! What an incredible honour. Thank you so much. I'm so sorry that being on the otherwise of the world meant that I couldn't join you for the event.
Thank you for the work that you do encouraging children to engage in reading.
