Major Infrastructure and Improvement Schemes
Being ‘Open for Business’ is a key priority for the Council.
Worcestershire has one of the fastest growing economies in the country. Investment into infrastructure, development sites and into developing a skilled workforce is greater now than at any stage in the last 30 years.
Worcestershire is an attractive, thriving County of over 500,000 people, set to grow by 45,000 new homes and 25,000 new jobs by 2025 resulting in a £2.9bn growth in Gross Value Added (GVA) from £9bn to £11.9bn per annum.
This is an exciting time for Worcestershire. The county is set to see unprecedented population, development and economic growth; particularly in our urban areas. Our enviable central location means that there is significant strategic demand to travel. This is especially the case on key road and rail networks which provide direct connections between major economies including Greater Birmingham, Greater Bristol, Cardiff and South Wales, Oxford, London and the South East and further afield.
