Worcestershire County Council Training

Training Terms and Conditions

It is important to clarify what you can expect from us when using our services, and for us to set out the expectations we have of you.  This section outlines our standard operating model.

By submitting your course nomination you are agreeing to adhere to the expectations outlined below.

Course dates and venues

  • reserve the right to alter course dates and venues without liability
  • do not reimburse travel or accommodation expenses
  • do not provide lunch at learning and development events unless otherwise stated

Joining instructions

We will...

  • email you upon receipt of your authorised booking to confirm your place or appointment
  • email confirmation of venue, date and timings and confirm the event leader
  • supply you with any supporting documents and course pre-reading/work

Please take a moment to review our full learning agreement.

Assistance with your learning

We are committed to equality of opportunity for all, and aim to enable all learners to realise their full potential. Do you require assistance with your learning? If so, in order to optimise your learning experience, please ensure that you let us know prior to each event of any disability, health condition or any specific requirements that you would like the event leader to be aware of...

Course attendance

  • please notify us if you are running late - 01905 844544
  • it is at the event leader's discretion whether you will be allowed to join an event if you arrive more than 10 minutes late - this is to avoid disrupting other delegates
  • it is expected that all delegates will respect confidentiality and will therefore follow the Chatham House Rule
  • in order to respond rapidly to changes in market demand, we reserve the right to alter course content and/or event leaders
  • drinks will not be available at designated break times unless otherwise stated

Course notes and training

Neither our own course notes or training content nor that of external Learning & Development organisations, can be relied upon for legal interpretation. Neither our own employers, trainers or consultants or those of external Learning and Development organisations, can accept responsibility for the actions of delegates, or those of other people reading the course notes, or accept responsibility for any loss incurred as a result of relying on the course content or the course notes.

Cancelling your place

It's always frustrating to find that an event you have been looking forward to is fully booked. It's also equally frustrating to find out that there were places available because some delegates did not attend; therefore we reserve the right to operate a charging policy for non-attendance.

  • please notify us as soon as you can to avoid incurring a cancellation fee
  • where appropriate, you can transfer a place on a course to a substitute delegate, providing we receive notification prior to the event
    - email the Corporate Learning and Development Team: LDAdmin@worcestershire.gov.uk
    - email the Corporate Health and Safety Team: ohsteam@worcestershire.gov.uk
  • the cancellation notice period required is 10 working days for any event/programme of events; the non-attendance fee/late cancellation fee is £45
  • non-attendance of any event is deemed to be a cancellation with no notice and a cancellation payment will be due in full
  • when commissioning ICT training on your behalf, we will email our full terms of agreement, including details of our 3rd party learning provider's cancellation and rescheduling policy before commencement of the event/s
  • when utilising our Instructional Design services, we will email our full terms of agreement before commencement of the project

Worcestershire County Council employees

  • unless otherwise stated, your learning and development is free at the point of delivery for the standard course programme
  • any event not covered under this programme will be advised at the point of booking and you will be required to provide a cost centre code
  • initial ICT consultancy appointments to determine team specific learning and development requirements are free of charge (with no obligation on either party)

External customers

  • rates quoted for events and services remain correct at the time of publication but we reserve the right to alter them
  • payment will be required by card at the time of booking

Feedback and evaluation process

  • welcome feedback from all of our customers, as ratings and feedback help us to design new events and make existing ones even better
  • will ask you to tell us your initial thoughts immediately after an event
  • will contact you again once you've had chance to practice your new skills, to find out whether the learning has made a positive difference

Data protection

  • if we need to work on your data be assured that we will treat this information in a professional and confidential manner
  • we will not pass your data to any 3rd parties and it will be deleted at the end of the session or upon conclusion of the project

If you have any specific feedback on your learning and development experience, we'd love to hear from you, and this can be directed to Jan Blackwell, Business Support Manager - jblackwell@worcestershire.gov.uk.
