Worcester Cathedral

Worcestershire has great mansions, a magnificent Cathedral and many other fine ancient buildings.  Its beautiful rolling countryside is peppered with cottages and houses reflecting every English building tradition.

There is nowhere else on earth quite like our County.

Worcestershire is the home to many exports such as the world famous Worcestershire Sauce, the throaty Morgan sports car and the Queen's finest tipple, Malvern Water.

In the south of the county market gardens and orchards produce soft fruits, asparagus and other vegetables, while hundreds of farms supply the nation with eggs, milk, cereals and cheeses.

View from up top of the Malvern Hills

The Malvern Hills are Britain's oldest geological feature offering numerous routes for walkers, cyclists, horse-riders and for those daring enough the Hills provide a great jumping off point for hand-gliders.

The Wyre Forest is England's second largest forest after the New Forest and provides breathtaking scenery as the River Severn meanders through the lush countryside.

The Wychavon District in the south of the county is home to the Blossom Trail and the Vale Trail both journeys encapsulating the beauty of the fertile soils in the region.

Tardebigge Locks

Worcestershire also boasts numerous waterways ideal for water-based activities.  Why not hire a narrow boat on one of the canals or set sail down the River Stour, River Avon, River Teme or Britain's longest river the River Severn.  Our waterways are extremely popular with fisherman, canoeists and for many other recreational activities.

Those visitors interested in the past can take a step back in time and visit various industrial heritage attractions.  The county benefited from the vast canal and river network, which were the motorways of their day, used to import raw materials and export manufactured goods.  There are various museums across the county that focus on industrial developments.

Whatever you choose to do in Worcestershire make sure you take time to explore the beautiful countryside and gardens laced with quintessential English charm and seasonal beauty.
