Get Involved

Plan of proposed reconstruction of the Guildhall, 1870sWe are looking for a number of volunteers to help with the project in a variety of ways. You won’t necessarily need to have worked with archives before or have much experience with computers, as training will be given – all we ask is that you are enthusiastic and reliable.

We aim to build on your existing skills and interests.

The sorts of tasks you could help with include:

  • cleaning or repackaging documents
  • listing the contents of unsorted boxes
  • researching Worcester city’s most famous people, places and events
  • compiling a glossary of archaic or unusual words used in the documents
  • name indexing
  • participating at community events or with memory reminiscence
  • data entry for the GIS map.

For more information please see our page about Volunteering at the Record Office

If you are interested in the project but want to get involved in a different way, then why not come along to one of our Open Days, talks or other events around Worcester? You will have the opportunity to see the archives on display, and also take part in the ‘bring-your-own-archive’ sessions. We hope to include the opportunity for memory reminiscence at some of the Open Days.
