Extended Services is a new area, emerging out of the 2006-07 restructuring of Children’s Services and sitting within the ‘Community Partnership’ portfolio.
The new Extended Services sector currently brings together three distinct areas – Extended Schools, Children’s Centres and Healthy Lifestyles which includes the Healthy Schools programme.
The objectives of the ‘extended services’ agenda are ambitious and far-reaching and make a vital contribution to both the Worcestershire Children and Young People’s Plan (CYPP) and the five Every Child Matters (ECM) outcomes to ensure that children and young people stay safe, are healthy, that they enjoy and achieve whilst making a positive contribution and that they achieve economic wellbeing.
