Parish Paths Wardens

Parish Path Wardens

The Parish Paths Warden Scheme aims to help facilitate the effective management of Worcestershire’s public rights of way network by the use of local knowledge and assistance in conjunction with the resources of Worcestershire County Council.

Parish Paths Wardens are Parish based and usually they are nominated by the parish or town council and then appointed by Worcestershire County Council following an informal interview with the Area Countryside Access Officer.

Parish Paths Wardens are expected to survey all the paths within their parish on a yearly basis, waymark the routes, carry out minor vegetation clearance and minor repairs as well as act as a local contact.

Parish Paths Wardens would receive training in all aspects of their work including optional duties they may like to take on, regular newsletters, as well as advice and support from their Area Countryside Access Officer.
