Kingsford Forest Park Walking Trails

Robin Trail

0.3m / 0.5km

Starting from Kingsford Lane car park this short route takes you around open flat grassland never straying too far from the peaceful surroundings of the picnic site, just the job for getting a breath of fresh air and stretching the legs.

Coal Tit Trail

1.2m / 2km

Also starting from Kingsford Lane car park, The Coal Tit Trail consists of mainly sandy paths with steep slopes and steps taking in an area of dry lowland heathland nestled in between the wooded areas of the Forest Park. Heathland is found on poor, acid sandy soils or gravels and is characterised by flowering dwarf shrubs. It can support many, often rare, species, and this site is one of the small number of places that is home to the Adder, one of Britain’s shyest and rarest reptiles.

Nuthatch Trail

1.5m / 2.5km

The Nuthatch Trail starts from Blakeshall Lane car park. Mainly sandy tracks, some steep slopes and steps, the trail passes through a wonderful mix of evergreen conifers, delicate Silver Birches and Larch trees whose needles turn a golden yellow in Autumn. The trail also takes in a superb view of Vales Rock and out across Kinver Edge and Staffordshire.

Woodpecker Trail

2m / 3km

This is the longest of the Kingsford trails and can be started from either Kingsford Lane or Blakeshall Lane car parks. It follows mainly sandy tracks, some steep slopes and steps, taking in many of the points of interest the Forest Park has to offer, including forest, heathland and rocky outcrops.
